Personal Philosophy

My vision is to create a dynamic learning community to provide the highest quality education that cultivates and values individuality, innovation, diversity, and compassion.  As an educational leader, I am dedicated to attaining knowledge and understanding of the best available evidence-based educational approaches to maximize learning outcomes by cultivating professional educators who are proficient in utilizing core methodologies that remove barriers to learning while enriching the learning experience of students and prepare them for living in the 21st century.

I am a firm believer….

  • In the promise and potential of all students

  • There all kinds of minds, and that children learn differently and mature in different ways

  • Children are naturally curious, innovative, and resourceful and through differentiated instructional practices students’ needs can be met

  • Every child has the right to learn, wants to learn, and that learning environments need to provide experiences that inspire children to become compassionate, responsible members or our global community.

  • That the teacher’s role is one of a supportive facilitator, respecting the child’s natural curiosity and encouraging investigation as they pursue their interests and passions.

  • Curriculum should be relevant, meaningful, and engaging using research-based best practices

  • Children need to be active participants in their learning where they are encouraged to take ownership.

  • The social and emotional development of every child should be fostered through meaningful, empathic relationships that promote interpersonal and intrapersonal knowledge and skills

  • Adults in a school – teachers and parents must model the knowledge, skills, attitudes and actions that they advocate for students through a culture and climate of collaboration while allowing for people to be individuals.

  • Learning should be a cause for celebration and joy.

Proud Legacy and Contributions

High Meadows School & Camp Celebrated 50 Years of Excellence in November 2023

In their Anniversary Publication, entitled New Recognition and Programs, I was honored and humbled to read about my time at this treasure of a school from 1997 to 2004.

"During Ms. Ebrahimi’s years at High Meadows School & Camp, the school achieved accreditation from SAIS (Southern Association of Independent Schools), SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools), NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), and was awarded a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Additionally, High Meadows became a GLOBE school, a program that advocates for education related to earth and environmental science. This complemented High Meadows’ new status as a member of the local Green Schools program."

During my tenure, High Meadows also earned candidacy with the International Baccalaureate for the IB Primary Years Program (PYP).
